Cetaceans were observed from a commercial marine mammal tour vessel on 125 survey trips, and a further 167 trips by the crew of the vessel. Purpose: Feasibility study to investigate the distribution, behaviour and individual identification of Bryde's whales (Balaenoptera edeni) in the Hauraki Gulf.

Observation aboard 167 survey trips aboard a commercial marine mammal tour vessel. Generally two 5-hour trips per day. Photographic data collection for identification as sea conditions allowed. Frequency of collection: One summer
