Summary
The survey data is used to present a preliminary evaluation of the subtidal habitat types within the 8 square kilometer proposed reserve.

Content
Survey undertaken from 28-31 March 1990. Eighteen kilometers of seabed were surveyed using a distance-recording manta board (14 individual transits) and seven 50m long transects were quantitatively described using line transect/quadrat analysis.
Substrate types: rock, boulder, sand, fine sand. Habitat types: mixed weed, kina & coralline turf, Ecklonia forests, deep zone, sand flats.
